Not sure about the background on the first pic, but the car is a Mercedes S or SS (almost certainly not an SSK) probably from 27-29. The background is obviously in the USA, and the pic is likely from the Hollywood area. It strongly resembles the Al Jolson car. I wonder if it is - a real exotic then and a treasure today.

You can see that in the first picture, they somehow printed out the hydraulic lift shaft behind him. That is a easy with paint or other application today, but not exactly clear how you would do it on the 1930's.
The best I could suggest is having a piece of black cellophane and cut out between his legs, Print the main picture with the cutout in place and the rest gone. then block the rest and move to a propositioned place where the shadows line up and print just the center.
You would burn a lot of paper getting it figured out. I don’t know how else you would do it.
The world was a lot harder without photoshop....
